It exists to provide the EU and its Member States with a factual overview of European drug problems and a solid evidence base to support the drugs debate. Website: Drug and Alcohol Finding: summaries of effectiveness of responses to alcohol and drug problems.

Be SMART is intended to assist anyone who is affected by the addictive behaviour of someone close to them. Since 2009, Be SMART has proven to be highly effective in supporting families and friends across Australia. More recently, Be SMART groups are also proving popular in New Zealand. The program helps participants to develop more effective coping strategies and find a greater sense of fulfilment in their own lives. It does this by shifting the centre of gravity away from the person with the problem behaviour back to the person who provides the support. It is based on a range of effective interventions including the 5-Step Method.  For more details of the Facilitators Handbook and the Participates Handbook please see the website.
